Gardening – Sow and Reap
Gardening is a household activity that is easy to teach how to do even to your children. It can become a fun activity that you and your family spend the mornings with by removing the unwanted grasses in your yard, tilling the soil a little and planting beautiful flowers or basic kitchen crops. If you aim to teach gardening to your children, it is important that you put emphasis on the proper use of garden tools to ensure their safety especially when using sharp gears such as garden shears or grass cutters.
Before using your garden tools, teach your children how each tool is used and how to inspect if each tool is working properly. Finding rusts in garden tools is a sign of degradation of that specific tool. Do not let them use rusty tool because it will be more risky if they get cut with a rusty tool. Do not let young kids play with sharp garden tools instead you can possibly teach them how to water the plants. In planting, you ask your children of their opinions regarding which plants they want to grow and the reason they want to grow it. Gardening can become a simple sharing activity not only about plants but also about other things like school or their dreams and aspirations.
Teaching your kids how to do the garden may also induce a spark of great interest in the field of agriculture or horticulture. This self-sustaining activity is not only beneficial for a person but for the whole environment per se. Therefore, sow in them the seed of knowledge in gardening and reap the rewards of quality time and prospective interest of your children.
